History

In 1949 a new Metropolitan Policy and Survey Committee began to study the Montreal YMCA's branches, college, and schools in relation to the needs of their communities; to recommend new areas which required YMCA services; to study present buildings and recommend structural changes; to consider what new buildings might be required, and to prepare estimates of the capital and maintenance costs of executing the recommendations. Information was gathered on population trends, leisure time facilities, youth programs, and other topics for the Island of Montreal and the South Shore. A final report was presented in mid-1952.
