Fonds consists of records created by Symphony Nova Scotia in the course of its regular business activities. The majority of the records were created during the process of concert-planning, including special concerts, annual concerts, tours, and concert series. These records include artist contracts, marketing and development documents, internal memos, and correspondence with artists and sponsors.

Records also consist of internal management records, including personnel records, office management files, and the files of the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Chief Executive Officer. The financial administration of the Symphony is documented though budgets, statements, ledgers, and tickets sales data.

The fonds also contains concert programs and promotional material such as posters, advertisements, flyers, newsletters, and other publications. The final section of the fonds consists of audiovisual and graphic material. There are audio recordings of performances and interviews of Symphony personnel as well as video recordings of advertisements and performances. The graphic material includes promotional photographs and photographs of the orchestra.

Item is a leather-bound receipt book with receipts from 28 December 1820 to 30 July, 1822. Receipts are written by idividuals who received cash (pound sterling) from Matthew Richardson.

Fonds consists of records that document every aspect of Neptune Theatre as an organization, including various textual records and graphic and audio-visual material pertaining to productions, events, personnel, and the administration of the Theatre. Types of records include correspondence, meeting minutes, reports and newsletters, financial records, box office records, applications, licenses, contracts, scripts, posters, newspaper clippings, production notes, programs, press kits, videocassettes, audiocassettes, negatives, contact sheets, slides, photographs, and other materials.

This fonds includes a variety of photographic material relating to the Marine Workers Federation. As well this fonds contains a copy of the newspaper "The Nova Scotia Worker" Issued by the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour.

Item is a logbook that contains costs of delivering breads for specific weeks and the yearly cost of producing breads, biscuits, cookies and cakes from 1907 to 1916.

The fonds contains business correspondence between the Halifax Seed Company and their associates worldwide as well as two ledger books. Advertisements and printed matter originally enclosed with correspondence provide an insight into the 1960s relevant beyond their connection to the Halifax Seed Company.

The company has been in operation for 137 years, yet the collection lacks information before 1956 and after 1965.
