The Adams River Lumber Company Ltd. was incorporated in British Columbia in 1907 for the purposes of building a lumber mill at the outlet of the Little Shuswap Lake at Chase and had logging operations along the Adams River and Adams Lake. The Company purchased considerable property to develop the town site of Chase. The lots were sold to employees of the Company as well as to merchants and other individuals who moved to the area. The Company ceased operations in 1925.
