The fonds consists of the records of the Alberta Camping Association and includes two sous-fonds, the Northern Alberta Branch of the Alberta Camping Association sous-fonds and the Calgary and District Branch of the Alberta Camping Association sous-fonds; and one series, Canadian Camping Association records, relating to the A.C.A.'s affiliation with the Canadian Camping Association including constitutions, bylaws, minutes, reports, correspondence, financial statements, and issues of the <em>Canadian Camping Magazine</em>. The fonds also includes the following: constitutions, bylaws, incorporation records, executive/board minutes, annual general meeting minutes, reports, financial records and statements, membership records, correspondence, seminar workbooks, programs, directories, newsletters, educational material, camp standards, manuals and handbooks, pamphlets and other information about various camps throughout the province, conference handouts and slides and photographs of camps.

Immediate source of acquisition
Representatives from the Alberta Camping Association deposited the records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta on an ongoing basis between 1978 and 1995.
Arrangement
Records from accessions PR1980.0144, PR1982.0227 and PR1985.0169 were integrated into PR1978.0095.
