Custodial history

Dave Kiil, member of the Alberta Estonian Heritage Society and former president of the Edmonton Estonian Society, deposited the records comprising PR2010.0503 at the Provincial Archives of Alberta on July 6, 2010. The records comprising PR2010.0078 were transferred from Library and Archives Canada.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of records of the Alberta Estonian Heritage Society including membership lists, photographs of members and events organized by the society, minute meetings, financial records, and copies of their newsletter, <i>Ajakaja</i>. The fonds also includes materials relating to the construction of their informational website, "Alberta's Estonian Heritage", the production of their documentary "Alberta's Estonians", and the creation of the illustrated book "The Story of Alberta's Estonians." The fonds also includes three additional series: The Calgary Estonian Society series PR3396.0001, The Edmonton Estonian Society series PR3396.0002, and The Medicine Valley Estonian Society series PR3396.0003.
