Biographical history

Né le 17 juillet 1912, Conrad Poirier est baptisé le même jour à la paroisse Saint-Enfant-Jésus à Montréal. Il est le fils d'Arthur Poirier et Yvonne de Saint-Dizier. Photographe à la pige, il vend ses photographies aux différents journaux et revues de Montréal. Il publie dans Le Samedi, La Revue populaire, The Gazette, La Patrie et La Presse. Nous avons peu de renseignements sur sa vie personnelle, si ce n'est une réputation d'excentricité. Adepte de la «nouvelle vision», il fait de la photographie sociale avant l'heure. Il s'intéresse au travail, à la rue et aux manifestations populaires. Il semble avoir délaissé la photographie au cours des dernières années de sa vie. Il meurt le 12 janvier 1968 à Montréal-Ouest, à l'âge de 55 ans
