Custodial history
These photographs were donated to the Dugald Costume Museum by Vera Chemago in 1979.
Scope and content
This collection consists of three black and white copy prints, made in 1979, of older originals which featured interiors of the Queens Hotel in Transcona, ca.1911 - 1913. The kitchen, dining room and bar are shown. Alice Denton can be seen in kitchen and dining room views. An original black and white print of the kitchen view mounted on heavy black card is also part of this collection. There are two black and white postcard prints. One features Alice and her friend, Isa Sutherland, ca.1910-11. The other features James A. Lyon, ca.1916. There are also two snapshots. One features James A. Lyon with a friend, ca.1919. The other is a colour view of Alice and Alex Lyon riding in an open car for Transcona's 50th anniversary in 1961. Also included with this collection are two small commemorative lithographs of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, probably marking their coronation in 1901 and mounted in a gilt frame on a blue velvet covered card with easel.
