Biographical history
Rev. William Stavely Ferguson (b. 1811) was a clergyman in Tevena, Stewartstown, Ireland. His cousin, Alexander Ferguson (b. ca. 1804), was the Ruling Elder at Goose River (now Linden), Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, whose son, James Ferguson, attended Mount Allison Academy in 1864 and 1865.

Scope and content
This fonds consists of letters (holograph) written by the Reverend William S. Ferguson to Alexander Ferguson between 1852-1879. Also included are transcribed copies of the earliest five letters.

The two earliest letters include postal stamp and seal. The five copies were transcribed by Mabel Ferguson Patton, great-granddaughter of Rev. Wm. S. Ferguson.
