Scope and content

The fonds consist of 24 -7 x 10cm b&w photographs taken with a "620" format camera, such as a Kodak Brownie, and contact printed. The photographs were glued on to black construction paper pages from a photograph album. The subject matter consists of the White Pass & Yukon Railway, scenic views of the Yukon River, including Five Finger Rapids, close views of the British Yukon Navigation Company gasoline powered launch, the "Loon", a dog team with a freighting style toboggan, and a log cabin and some bush camp scenes. There are also several views of what appears to be a salvage operation on the frozen Yukon River of the Sternwheeler Dawson which sunk in Rink Rapids Oct. 12, 1926.
