Biographical history

Lieutenant Alphonse Etienne Thedore Paquet enlisted for overseas service with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 1 September 1939. He was Struck Off Strength to the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Depot 1 November 1939. Promoted to Captain and then Major he did not join the Regiment overseas until 21 January 1941. He sailed with the Regiment to Sicily in 1943 where he was wounded 27 July 1943 while in command of D Company and Struck Off Strength the same day.

The photographs were in the possession of A. D. Waddell, friend of Alphonse Etienne Thedore Paquet.

Scope and content

The fonds contains 3 photographs of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, 1939, 1at Work Point Barracks, Esquimalt British Columbia, 1 of B and D Companies marching to the dock and and 1 of the Troopship Princess Margaret? leaving Victoria for Vancouver , 14 November 1939.
