Archives Deschâtelets
The historical archives of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) in Canada (documents going back to 1841); manuscripts; volumes; microfilms; photographs (going back to 1816); collections pertaining to Oblate Missions, Aboriginal and Western history. The holdings of the Deschâtelets Archives include some 4 500 boxes containing individual files of over 4 000 Oblates and collections on the history of the Oblates, the Oblates themselves and their work around the world, and specifically in Canada. Holdings and collections take various forms: textual documents, some 125 000 photographs, 35 000 m of microfilm, maps and numerous museum artifacts. The Archives also include a 20 000-document library consisting of books and journals written by the Oblates about the Oblates and other related topics.
