Biographical history
Barry Morton Gough (1938 - ) was a professor of history at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, from 1972 until his retirement in 2004. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Gough earned his BEd at the University of British Columbia, his MA at the University of Montana, and his PhD at King's College, University of London. At Wilfrid Laurier University Gough was founding Director of Canadian Studies, Coordinator of Interdisciplinary Studies, and was the Assistant Dean of Arts and Science: Student Affairs. Barry Gough has been awarded many distinctions. In 1981 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. In 1991 the University of London awarded him Doctor of Literature for contributions to Imperial and Commonwealth History. In 1999 he was elected Fellow of King's College London.
