Biographical history

Donald "Buck" William Fraser was born in Dawson City, Yukon on December 11, 1943. His parents were Donald William (1914-1997) and Ardrie (Harbottle) Fraser (1912-1992). Buck has three siblings - Marjorie, Joy and Robert. His father's work as a mechanic took the family around the Yukon including Dawson City, Marsh Lake, Haines Junction and Whitehorse. Buck and his wife Lynda live in Carcross, Yukon.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of nine photographs, two letters, two American Red Cross certificates given to Lillian Harbottle, autographed Alaska Highway booklet, one charcoal sketch of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officer and three photograph albums. The photograph in accession 98/31 is titled "Sourdough Squad" and shows men in uniform. The accompanying caption names each soldier. Photographs in the three albums show scenes of Dawson City, Whitehorse and sternwheelers on the Yukon River, 1920-1946.
