Fonds consists of a ledger recording the monthly receipts and expenditures of the hotel. Each double page covers one month. The daily total of receipts is entered on the left hand leaf and the right hand folio has the specific expenditures of each day.

The drawings were created by Hofman for the Heritage Commission's publication Columns, Cornices and Coal (1998).

June and Dick Leahy fonds: 1960

Fonds consists of images of the 1960 fire that razed most of Chinatown. June Leahy, who took all the colour slides, used one of the earliest SLR Pentax cameras while Bill Leahy, who took most of the black and white photographs, used a Leica camera. The photographs of the day after the fire were taken by June. The Leahys were friends with RCMP Staff Sergeant Earle Sarsiat who notified Bill Leahy of the fire; the Leahys were on site soon after the fire was reported.

Kneen's Builder's Supplies fonds

Fonds consists of an official copy of an Order-in-Council issued by the federal Department of Public Works approving an application by Kneen's Builder's Supplies to build a wharf in Commercial Inlet (1950). Also includes correspondence from the Public Works Department (1933) and a hand drawn sketch of the subject area.

Nanaimo Community Archives Beban House collection

Collection consists of photographs and wallpaper samples taken by Nanaimo Community Archives staff during renovations to Beban House in 1996. Beban House was built in the 1930s by Frank Beban. Beban arrived in Nanaimo from his native New Zealand around 1908 and worked in the mines. He made his wealth, however, as a sawmill owner. Beban House was built on 160 acres in Northfield and cost $25,000. Today, the house is used by Tourism Nanaimo and other community organizations. Photographs are views of the upstairs portion only of Beban House.
