Biographical history
In March 1898, 17 year old Charles P. Mosier from Byron, New York, travelled to the Klondike with "The Gillett Party". He was the son of Marlin Mosier who, with the Byron-Caledonia party of 1897, was one of the first "outsiders" to reach Dawson City, Yukon.

The fonds consists of a copy of Charles Mosier's diary describing the 1898 journey over the Chilkoot Pass through the Whitehorse Rapids to Dawson City, Yukon; of placer mining through the winter of 1898-99 on Sulphur, Quartz and Meadow creeks; and of the journey home to New York State in June, 1899. An index of people, places, rivers, creeks, trails and boats is also included.
