Biographical history
The Christ the King Mission was opened in 1961, initially to carry on a ministry to the native Indians who were living and working in the village. Prior to this Port Edward was served from St. Peter's, Seal Cove in Prince Rupert. The new mission included ministry at Miller Bay Hospital and St. Paul's, Metlakatla. The latter was removed from the parish's responsibility in 1990.
