The fonds includes personal correspondence, legal documents, and reference material of Thomas A. Love, owner of the Gazette Printing Company.

The fonds consists of a signed copy of the "Coal Mines of Nanaimo"; a copy of a report on surveys in Nanaimo written by Leynard; a file on Nanaimo's Coat of Arms; drawings of gun carriages and dimensions of Bastion cannons and four photographs including views of the H & W Market, a parade and a meeting of the Native Sons. Also includes Paul Leynard's (Arthur's father) membership card for the X-Ray Association of Employees of Western Fuel Company and certificate for free use of the X-ray machine and a letter to Arthur from Hiram Gough in native "trade language".

Fonds consists of original cartoons drawn by Len Norris while he was employed as the Vancouver Sun's political cartoonist. The cartoons depict various topics from local, provincial, and national politics.

The fonds consists of records relating to the preparation of the "Dictionary of Canadian English", the Survey of Canadian English, and the revised "Canadian Dictionary" (CD2). Sub-series include unpublished academic papers, budgets, correspondence, applications, protocols and manuals, seminar material, personnel records, survey, CD2 lexical lists and proofs, log books, newsletters and other publicity material, reports and correspondence regarding English phrasal verbs, specialized vocabularies and word lists.

The fonds consists of the administrative records of the Lytton Lion's Club T.V. Committeee from October 1970 to January 1971. Includes minutes, correspondence and general notes regarding the installation of the BCTV satellite for the use of the Village of Lytton.

The fonds consists of Schroeder's literary manuscripts, radio plays, filmscripts, manuscripts by others, personal correspondence, financial records, and printed material which chronicle his development and contributions as a writer, journalist, broadcaster, editor, translator, and literary/cultural activist. Included among the subjects documented in the papers are: Schroeder's published and unpublished fiction and nonfiction works, including short prose, novellas, poems, translations, a prison memoir, literary columns, and feature articles; production of documentaries for the CBC radio show "Ideas"; publication of the literary magazine of translation "Contemporary Literature in Translation"; the author's nine-month prison sojurn; the founding of the League of Canadian Poets and the Writers' Union of Canada; and, the establishment of the Public Lending Rights Commission of Canada.

The fonds is divided into seven series and consists of the authors research, correspondence and drafts of completed works published.
