Fonds consists of Vance Rodewalt's editorial cartoons on a variety of topics. Fonds consists of approximately 1600 political cartoons and approximately 1000 cartoons focused on social issues. Fonds also includes a smaller number of cartoons on seasonal topics, sports, the Calgary Stampede, the Olympics, and other miscellaneous topics.

The fonds consists of editorial cartoons, most of which appeared in the Calgary Herald. The cartoons poke fun at the joys and frustrations of being Calgarian, and also depict Calgary's unique views on Canadian and world affairs. General topics include politics, religion, health care, hockey and weather. More controversial topics include gun control, tasers, abortion, the war in Afghanistan, and smoking. Many cartoons relate to Quebec separatism. The fonds also consists of his comic strips, Chubb and Chauncey and The Byrds.

The fonds consists of photographs of people and events in Vancouver and in other locations of B.C. taken by the Vancouver Province newspaper. Photographers included Eric W. Cable, Harry L. Cantlon, William H. Cunningham, Claud P. Dettloff, Byron Charles Jennings, Charles S. Jones, Ross J. Kenward, Donald C. McLeod, Robert E. Olsen, David C. Patterson, Gordon F. Sedawie, and Villy Svarre.
