Collection consists of videocassette recordings of various Shaw Cable Channel 4 programmes including: Plugged In, Cafe Canadian, Best of Island Country, On the Waterfront, Arts Now, The Advocates, Arts Digest, Battle of the Bands, Common Ground, DNE Comedy Show, Evening of Heart and Soul, Festival Cafe, Hour Town, In Conversation, Island Central, Island Originals, Off the Wall, Project Nanaimo, and Tidelines. Also includes considerable footage of the Marine Festival, parades, programme fillers, specials and many community, regional island events.

Fonds consists of published and unpublished photographs taken by staff and outside photographers of events, individuals, buildings, and community groups in the Nanaimo region. Many of the photographs were taken by Englefield Studios. Also includes material related to the Nanaimo Commonwealth Holdings Society Bingo scandal.;The fonds is arranged in three series: 1) Prints 2) Negatives and 3) Bingo scandal materials.

Arthur P. Leynard fonds

The fonds consists of a signed copy of the "Coal Mines of Nanaimo"; a copy of a report on surveys in Nanaimo written by Leynard; a file on Nanaimo's Coat of Arms; drawings of gun carriages and dimensions of Bastion cannons and four photographs including views of the H & W Market, a parade and a meeting of the Native Sons. Also includes Paul Leynard's (Arthur's father) membership card for the X-Ray Association of Employees of Western Fuel Company and certificate for free use of the X-ray machine and a letter to Arthur from Hiram Gough in native "trade language".
