Ce plan présente le tracé de l'ancien et du nouveau canal Lachine depuis le pont Wellington jusqu'au pont Saint-Grégoire à Montréal. Ce tracé traverse les propriétés du Séminaire de Montréal que le Board of Works va exproprier pour agrandir le canal. Les autres propriétaires voisins sont Benjamin Brewster, Thomas Philips et C. H. Castle. Sont localisés sur les lots des édifices divers. De plus, près du pont Wellington, il y a un édifice et une cour à bois et un autre petit édifice près du pont Saint-Grégoire. Des bornes sont situées le long du tracé du canal
