Lillian Maud Duchemin was born on 5 March 1906 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, the youngest daughter of Albert Ernest Duchemin and Elizabeth (Bessie) Carter. Lillian's sister, Mrs. Helen Loughlin, (1904-1999) was a former school teacher, and lived in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Lillian Duchemin was involved as a member and/or executive officer in a number of professional and community clubs and organizations including the Canadian Girl Guides Association, the Charlottetown Business and Professional Women's Club, the P.E.I. Music Festival Association, the Little Theatre Guild, and the Dominion Drama Festival. She also took on active roles in performing and in the organization of several theatre, music and drama festivals and productions. Ms. Duchemin was also active in sports and was an avid traveller. Lillian Duchemin died in Charlottetown on 14 June 1994, at the age of 88.
