Custodial history

The content of the photographs correspond with Father Pratt's biography, so it is assumed that Father Pratt was the creator. It is unknown when and how the negatives were acquired by the donor but the donor's parents, Henri Van Tighem and Marie Rose Van Tighem lived in Rivière-qui-Barre at the same time that Father Pratt was the resident priest for the mission there.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of photographic negatives corresponding with Father Pratt's schooling and work for the period 1918 to about 1940. The identified locations of the photographs include Edmonton, AB, Saddle Lake, AB, Cold Lake, AB, Onion Lake, SK, Frog Lake, AB, North Battleford, SK, and Fort Resolution, NWT. Some of the photographs have not been identified. The files are arranged according to the location in which Father Pratt worked. The photographs also pertain to events of priests and brothers such as visits and seminary life as well as photographs of the missions.
