This collection consists of textual and audio records relating to fiddling on PEI from 1951 to 1985. Textual records include issues of the Island Fiddler newsletter (1978, 1980, 1981, 1985), a program and two posters from the Island Folk Festival in 1982, and a photocopy of an article written by Jim Hornby in 1985 entitled "A Survey of Fiddling on Prince Edward Island". Also included in the collection are thirteen photographic negatives of various musical groups and individuals such as Don Messer and his Islanders and Robert Weeks.

The collection also contains original reel to reel audio tapes and cassettes of the Island/Heritage Folk Festival, and Venez Entendre which took place on 6 November 1982 as well as an audio tape and original discs of the Saturday Night Studio Jamboree broadcast on C.J.C.R radio in January or March of 1951, and original audio reels and copy tape of Lem Jay, fiddler from Mt. Stewart.

The fonds consists of one audiocassette of fiddle music played by John T. Gill in 1952 "on his 91st birthday for those seventeen children remaining in his family." It is composed largely of Irish folk music. The performance was originally recorded on a 78 disc and copied in 1992 to an audio cassette.

The fonds consists of 79 videocassette tapes filmed by Ken Perlman and a group of volunteers. Most of the tapes were filmed during the summer of 1992; however, the fonds includes some tapes from 1991. The videocassettes have been divided into the following series:
