Custodial history

The first accession of this collection consisted of records which were transferred from the Department of Public Works of the Corporation of the District of West Vancouver to the custody of Rupert Harrison in October 1990. The records were, along with other material in Rupert Harrison's collections at the Municipal Hall of the Corporation of the District of West Vancouver, transferred to temporary storage and initial processing at the processing centre of the West Vancouver Memorial Library. From there, they were transferred to the West Vancouver Museum and Archives in January of 2001. Series 2-5 are from this first accession.

The second accession occurred when a roll of blueprints was discovered by a UBC sanitation engineer. The blueprints had been thrown out by the Civil Engineering department, who used them for learning aids, during their move from the (now) Computer Science building. The plans were transferred to the West Vancouver Museum & Archives in 2003. Plans not relating to the Lions Gate Bridge were reassigned to the relevant archives. Series 1 is from this second accession.
