The fonds consists of four ledgers for 1840, 1894, 1900 and 1909. They contain accounts of the fish business originally established by Henry Goodridge (b.1762) at Renews. The 1840 ledger gives accounts of the fishery, smithery, cooperage, shipwright and schooner operation, as well as personal accounts. The ledgers for 1894, 1900 and 1909 are probably from the St. John's office, but they also include business accounts relating to the Southern Shore.

Collection contains photographs related to the business and family interests of Alberto Wareham Limited, Newfoundland. Subjects include the Alberto Wareham Limited premises and vessels in Spencer's Cove, Placentia Bay; vessels owned by Alberto Wareham Limited in Harbour Buffett, Placentia Bay; the vessels Alberto Wareham and Herbert L. Rawding; a house being towed across Placentia Bay; and Elsie Wareham, Alberto's Wareham's sister.

Some photographers, including John Butt and Bill Davies, are identified. Other photographers are unknown.

Fonds consists of minutes; township books; reports to General Sessions of the Peace; land records; financial records; records of town officers; correspondence; petitions; road and bridge records; overseers of the poor records; public health records; militia records; fire prevention records; animal control records; election records; fisheries records; and provincial and federal legislation. Due to previous archival arrangement, it was decided to maintain the township records in a fonds separate from the records of the Municipality of the District of Argyle.

Fonds consists of records of the purchase of land and fishing rights in Newfoundland from Joan Burrows, Joan Churchward, and John Aylward; power of attorney from Christopher Arthur (1730); affidavits of John Summers and Arthur French, regarding the detention of the ship Happy Return (1742),and of John Gale, Peter Cutler and Alexander Findlator, regarding the seizure of The Hampshire (1745); and a letter from Charles Walley, St. John's (1773).

This fonds consists of original and photocopied documents for Baine, Johnston & Co.'s operations at Battle Harbour, Labrador, and St. John's, 1806-1958. The records are arranged in two series: Records relating to Battle Harbour, Labrador; and records relating to St. John's.

The records for the St. John's business consist of ledgers, desk diaries, letterbooks, office accounts, shipping records, correspondence and published materials.

The material for Battle Harbour consists of legal documents relating to property, insurances, wills and estate papers. Other records include: office accounts, shipping records and correspondence; a list of planters at Battle Harbour in 1871 and a list of planters in Labrador, 1871; and a family tree of the Grieve family.

The fonds contains the operating records of the Baine, Johnston & Co. branch at Battle Harbour, Labrador. The 36 bound volumes include ledgers, journals, a private ledger and miscellaneous account books. The ledgers are indexed and contain an account of all business conducted with each customer during the fishing season. The winter ledgers contain accounts of business conducted for each customer when the fishing season was closed. The private ledger contains confidential information relating to specific accounts. The journals list individual accounts and include the date, name of customer, purchases of goods or services, customer account number and total amount of the transactions. Miscellaneous account books, which were used in every day operations, contain various accounts as well as financial and fishery reports.

The fonds is arranged in three series: Ledgers, 1917-1943; Journals, 1931-1946; Miscellaneous, 1901-1953.

Benjamin LeBlanc & Company fonds

Fonds consists of one ledger which contains account information from 1873-1892 and from 1923-1942. The early 1870s entries were most likely created by Jean Mandé. Also contained in ledger are notes regarding LeBlanc family history - birth, death and marriage dates - recorded between 1937 and 1979.

The fonds consists of four ledgers for C.& A. Dawe, Bay Roberts, (1876-1877, 1877, 1878, 1923-25), a financial statement for C.& A. Dawe (1910), correspondence, an insurance policy 1874). a diary/logbook of the barque Nebo, 1904, and an undated statement of the master watch on the SS Terra Nova.

The fonds also includes the last will and testament of Charles Dawe, (1908) and a photocopy of a family tree of the Dawe family.
