Biographical history
Floyd was born on November 29, 1919 in Leamington, Ontario, but moved to Guelph to attend the Ontario Agriculture College where he received his degree in 1943. A year later he married Mildred Cormie. By 1950 he earned a Master’s of Science degree and began a career at the University of Guelph as a professor teaching chemistry. He retired from the university in 1985. In retirement he enjoyed hiking, travelling and genealogy. He died in January 2012.
Custodial history
Prior to their transfer to the Guelph Public Library Archives the records were in the custody of Sandy Evers.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of postcards, one framed photograph, and textual records created or accumulated by Floyd Earl Brewin Roadhouse. The postcards offer a wide range of images covering various aspects of the City of Guelph and its history. The framed photograph is of the graduating class of the Ontario Agricultural College taken in 1943.
The textual records include Guelph Horticultural Society Coronation Annual 1953 and a copy of By Law 3115 of the City of Guelph.
