Le forum auquel est consacré ce dossier fait suite à la politique municipale d'habitation intitulée « Habiter Montréal », mise en place en 1989-1990. Ce forum rassemble les partenaires de la municipalité, tant entrepreneurs, institutions financières, propriétaires, locataires qu'organismes sociaux et communautaires. Dans les notes d'allocutions du forum, M. John Gardiner, vice-président du Comité exécutif, dresse un premier bilan de la politique et esquisse les perspectives d'action. Le forum aborde, en outre, les questions de rénovation, de logement subventionné et de développement résidentiel. Information ressources femmes et logement a également rassemblé dans ce dossier deux graphiques sur l'Indice du coût de la vie et des loyers sur l'Ile de Montréal, 1981-1987 et sur le Nombre de logements sociaux réalisés (entre 1985 et 1994)
