The 8th Canadian Hussars was formed on April 4th, 1848 as the New Brunswick Regiment of Yeomanry Cavalry, from eleven independent troops of Cavalry. The first of these was raised in 1825 from descendants of the Loyalists who settled the St. John and Kennebecasis river valleys. To the New Brunswick of the later John Saunders

Scope and content
Series consists of photocopies of Orders for 1848, 1892,1893 and 1894 as well as 1900,1901 and 1913. Also include a true copy from "The Royal Gazette" of NB, April 5, 1848. Photocopies of a bound copy of Appointments, Regulations and General Militia Orders for 1909-1909. 3 original books --Orders 1892-1894, Routine Orders December 1899- June 1908 and Regimental Orders June 1907 to July 1911.
