The Glenbow Archives acquires, preserves and makes accessible historic records documenting the history of southern Alberta. Our records include the papers of individuals and families, as well as clubs, organizations, businesses, and schools. Some of our specialties are ranching, First Nations (in particular the Blackfoot Nation), immigration and land settlement, Mounted Police, the city of Calgary, genealogy, personal papers (diaries, letters, scrapbooks,etc.) and the oil industry. We have extensive holdings of photographs, including 110,000 which are available for viewing on our website. We are also the home of the Imperial Oil Company archives.
