Biographical history

The Glenlyon School Old Boys Association was founded in 1994 "to strengthen the comradeship among old boys of Glenlyon and provide a tangible means of keeping in touch with their Alma Mater." In the 1960s the Glenlyon Old Boys Dance at the Crystal Gardens in Victoria was one of the highlights of the Christmas social calendar. With the rise of convenient skiing facilities on southern Vancouver Island, its popularity declined and from 1973 onwards the Association's activities were confined to an annual sporting event in the fall for the younger old boys. In 1986, when Glenlyon and Norfolk House Schools amalgamated, the Association joined with the Norfolk House Old Girls Association to form the Glenlyon-Norfolk School Alma Mater Association.
