Scope and content

This fonds consists of scrapbooks, correspondence, newspaper clippings, historical publications, manuscripts, and other assorted material. These records were created, collected, or maintained by Greta Shutt to document various aspects of Guelph history including family history material for the Crowe, Shutt, Skinner, Watson, and Raymond families; compilations of earlier published histories of Guelph and related manuscript material; source material for Donald B. Shutt's autobiography; copies of early Guelph Historical Society publications; and copies of Greta and Donald Shutt's local history paper The Clarion.

Loose photographs in this fonds have been physically removed from the file folders for conservation reasons. Loose photographs have also been removed from the scrapbooks for conservation reasons. Other photographs housed in the scrapbooks remain there.
