St. Mungo's United Church débute vers 1800 lorsque des Methodist Circuit Riders viennent desservir la communauté. La localité s'appelait alors Chatham. Avant 1833, les presbytériens viennent former une nouvelle communauté. En 1833, la communauté devient une charge pastorale et organise ses activités. En 1861, la communauté prend le nom de St. Mungo's Presbyterian Church. En 1925, la communauté adhère à l'Église unie du Canada et s'appelle St. Mungo's United Church. En 1830, un premier temple, le Stone Hall, est érigé par les méthodistes. À la fin du mois d'août 1833, le révérend William Mair, ministre presbytérien, commence son ministère. En 1836, un temple est érigé sur le lot du pasteur. En 1862, un presbytère est construit. En 1926, le presbytère et le temple sont éclairés à l'électricité. À la suite de la vente du presbytère, en 1952, un nouveau est construit. En 1958, une salle de réunion adjacente au temple est construite
