The 8th Canadian Hussars was formed on April 4th, 1848 as the New Brunswick Regiment of Yeomanry Cavalry, from eleven independent troops of Cavalry. The first of these was raised in 1825 from descendants of the Loyalists who settled the St. John and Kennebecasis river valleys. To the New Brunswick of the later John Saunders

Scope and content

Series consists of A History of the regiment, a list of The Queen's Rangers February 14, 1787 plus a list of Officers serving from 1866-1868. A photograph of HRH the Princess Louise who was Colonel-in-Chief from 1884-1939. An 11' x 17" photocopy of the Regimental Flag October 1855. A short Chronological Account of the 8th Princess Louise (NB) Hussars. Also included is material on the History of Regimental Mascots.
