Biographical history
Ian Baird is a library assistant at the University of Victoria McPherson Library. His father, Alex MacLeod Baird, was a friend and colleague of John Diefenbaker. Ian Baird is the author of "A Historic Guide to the E and N Railway" (1985) and "Canadian Pacific Railway Stations in British Columbia" (1990).

Diefenbaker to Alex MacLeod Baird, 1966, and to Ian Baird, 1966-1977, with some letters signed by Diefenbaker's secretary on his behalf; clippings regarding Diefenbaker and the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, 1959-1972; correspondence to Ian Baird from Lyle Kahl, MLA for Esquimalt (1978) regarding the Save the E and N Railway Committee; Victor A. Stephens, leader of the B.C. Progressive Conservative Party regarding the provincial election campaign (1978-1979), and from other Progressive Conservative politicians.
