Fonds consists of the personal and business records of John P. Macdonell. The fonds includes accounts, notes and correspondence created by McDonnell during his investigation of the Office of License Inspector for the City of Toronto, 1881-1884. The fonds also contains letters from then Ontario Attorney-General, Oliver Mowat, 1881-1882, concerning Ontario land boundaries. Also included is Macdonnell's personal financial accounts as well as family correspondence, mostly with his nephew, John A. Robinson, and his wife, 1882-1883.
