TGH Photography Department negatives

Series consists of negatives of various hospital events and TGH staff taken by the TGH Photography department. There is also a file of correspondence from the Motion Pictures division of the Department of Photography.

Plans and Architectural Drawings

Series consists of surveyors’ plans, site plans and maps of various TGH properties in the City of Toronto, and architectural drawings of TGH buildings at both its Gerrard St. and College St. sites.

File 33.0.30 contains copies of plans and drawings ([185?]-1910) from the collection of the Metropolitan Toronto Reference Library. File includes photographs (28.5 X 35.5 cm), photostatic positives (28 X 43 cm) and photostatic negatives (28 X 39 cm) of architectural drawings of TGH Gerrard St. site by William Hay, Architect [185?] and by Gundry and Langley, Architects (1864-1866); and photographs (28 X 35.5 cm) of architectural drawings of “Central Block”, TGH College St. site, by Darling & Pearson, Architects (January 1910).

Certificates and Diplomas

Series consists of four certificates acknowledging completion of course in midwifery in the Lying-In (Maternity) Department 1886-1900, signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the TGH Board of Trustees, and by the Medical Superintendent; a diploma issued to TGH medical staff member Dr. C. Edward Cooper Cole by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario 1907; and various certificates acknowledging attendance at autopsies and competence to report post-mortem examinations, issued 1882-1916.

Finance Department records

Series consists of records created and collected by the TGH Finance Department and predecessor bodies, and by individual executive officers responsible for maintaining the general financial records of the TGH. Records include financial statements, ledgers, accounts payable records, comparative expense analyses, financial and statistical returns, correspondence as well as deeds and endowments.

Office of the Chief Operating Officer records

Series consists of a formal proposal by the TGH Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. W. Plachta, and submitted to the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Toronto District Health Council. The proposal seeks to have the TGH designated as a regional Level 1 trauma centre, and includes an overview of TGH facilities, services and resources relevant to the provision of trauma care

Series consists of a bound notebook containing manuscript notes pertaining to the preparation of dialysis solutions for TGH artificial kidney patients May 1962-August 1966.
