This fonds contains photographs collected by Vincent Vesco and taken by photographer Frank E. Wolfe, of scenes of Dawson City, Yukon, placer mining operations in the Klondike, the Dawson City to Whitehorse trail, logging in the Twelve Mile district and some river pictures. There is one print of the Wolfe's photographic studio in Dawson City. All of the prints are captioned and dated with a mask used by the photographers during the printing process. These 20 x 25 cm (8 x 10 inch) prints were made from direct contact with glass plate negatives of the same size. They are most likely made on 'printing out paper', which is brownish by nature, rather than being toned. Most of them are in excellent condition, retaining phenomenal accuence, clarity of detail and tonal rendition.
