Bland was dismissed for financial constraints; Parry was dismissed because Principal Riddell found his work unsatisfactory; Smith was dismissed due to a purported combination of usurping Principal Riddell's authority and spreading radical religious opinions. The first two cases were investigated by the Methodist Church, since the men also were Ministers and had been hired to teach Theology subjects. Dr. Smith was invited from Toronto to teach Sociology and his case was taken to court. The documents include official reports, notes, memos, and correspondence. Series is arranged into seven files -- the first two are for Bland and Parry, respectively, while the remaining 5 are for Smith. Bland's file contains a biographical paper written on in 1970.
