Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts

This collection consists of a detailed calendar of correspondence between clergy in New Brunswick and the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts in London, 1821-1848. Most of the letters are written from New Brunswick, with a few replies from London. There is also a calendar of the letters from Archdeacon George Coster of Fredericton, 1829-1844. Both calendars include an index of the names appearing, biographical notes on the writers of the letters, and abstracts of the letters.

There are also 56 reels of microfilm containing other records related to New Brunswick, acquired from the Society, including an index, journals (1747-1860), and calendars (1702-1885)

The fonds consists of an excerpt from the book "Adventures on the Columbia River, including the narrative of a residence of six years on the western side of the Rocky Mountains, among various tribes of Indians hitherto unknown: together with A Journey across the American continent" by Ross Cox, 1832; an article by Nick Tanasiuk about homesteading at Rock Island Lake, Alberta; an article from the magazine Encompass, Oct. 1998 "Portage La Biche, the forgotten portage" by Tom Maccagno; a copy of 1915 "An act to incorporate the Athabasca and Fort Vermilion Railway Company"; information on Lac La Biche's 200th Anniversary in 1998; 1913 "An act to incorporate the Athabasca Club"; newspaper articles regarding Athabasca from the Calgary News Telegram, Calgary Albertan, and Edmonton Journal. There are also articles about Alex Stratton, Athabaska Investment Co., 1911; NWMP report mentioning Constable Hubert Thorne; excerpts from "Journal Notre Dame Des Victoires, Lac La Biche".

The collection consists of letters from Father Collignon of the St. Bernard Mission in Grourd, Alberta to Father Le Serrec of the St. Charles Mission in Dunvegan, Alberta dating from 1889. The fonds also includes photocopies of the letters, and typed transcriptions of the letters into French and English dating from 1987, written by Louise Zuk.

MS-515: This fonds consists of programs and sheet music from the Light Opera of Edmonton. MS 515.1: This fonds consists of personal and family records of May Dornan. These records break down into four groups: scrapbooks, Catholic Church materials, miscellaneous materials, and Dennis Dornan materials. The scrapbooks consists of a photograph album of a production of "The Lass of Limerick Town"; two scrapbooks of miscellaneous materials including newspaper clippings on history, architecture and the catholic church in Edmonton, cards, notices, invitations and other ephemera; a scrapbook on family and church history; and finally a scrapbook on "The First Fifty Years" A Pictorial Review of the Origin of the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua and the Contributions made by the Pioneers, both for the Church and in the Community." Catholic Church materials consists of various publications on the church in Edmonton, including material on St. Anthony's, the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton, the Catholic Women's League, St. Agnes, St. René / Our Lady of Assumption, and Edmonton Catholic Schools. The miscellaneous materials consist of Women's Aid Society of the Royal Alexandria Hospital Recipe Book, Celebration of Marriage between Doreen Gale and Wayne Bard, Obituary: A Story, "Canada's Constitution--A Proud Moment for Alberta," Theatre Programmes, and a Granite Curling Club Roster. This fonds also contains material from Dennis Dornan, including material from his time with the Edmonton Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Morris Norman collection

This collection consists of the individual items collected at auction by Morris Norman. The records relate to the Toronto Jewish community and Ontario Jewry and include textual documents, photographs, near-prints, publications, artifacts, posters and broadsheets, sound recordings, and ephemera. Most of the items relate to various Jewish organizations, businesses, synagogues and individuals, and to Christian missionary work in Toronto. The material has been described at the file level, or where appropriate, the item level.
There are also four distinct series of records which document Berul Sugarman, who was a concert violinist and orchestral leader; the Franklin family, who owned a large amount of property in Toronto in the late 1800s and early 1900s; radio and television scripts written by Wayne and Shuster, Henry Karpus and Russell Bradley; and a collection of Turofsky photographs.
