Waterton Centennial Oral History Project collection

The collection consists of recorded interviews and interview summaries with pioneers of Waterton Lakes National Park. Frank Goble, and Ed and Cheryl Mitchell were interviewed but not recorded, although notes were taken and are found with the inventory. There is very poor sound quality on the Tom Jenkins recorded interview due to a cassette malfunction. The Frank Johansen interview summary is accompanied by extensive biographical material about his great aunt, Lu Nielson.

Tom Watrous' Grey Owl collection

The collection consists of a photocopy of the diary kept by Grey Owl while he was a warden at Riding Mountain National Park in 1931; National Parks Service correspondence (1931-1958) concerning his service; Parks Canada reports concerning the restoration of his cabins in Riding Mountain and Prince Albert National Parks; materials related to Watrous's research and lectures concerning Grey Owl; and slides of Grey Owl and his wife Anahareo.

The collection consists of two photograph albums. The first album contains 98 photographs, possibly of a survey trip in northern Alberta, and includes images of nature scenes, men being transported by boat, the men at camp, and the men cutting trees. The second album includes 92 photographs, possibly from about 1914, and one photograph tucked in the back from 1932 of a small girl, Pam; the images in this album include nature scenes, the MacDonald Hotel, Edmonton stores, a detachment of First World War soldiers, Edmonton during a flood, bridges, trains and various unidentified people pursuing leisure activities (such as boating, picnics).

The collection is made up of items donated to the Provincial Archives of Alberta from the Society's holdings. The collection is made up of postcards and postcard-format photographs depicting places in Alberta, including views of Banff, Mount Stephen and Cathedral Peak, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Lacombe, a train on the Lacombe Branch of the C.P.R., Lacombe High School, an early view of Calgary, and the Lacombe hockey team, winners of the Alberta Amateur Hockey Association championship.
