Will Munro collection

Collection consists of posters designed by Will Munro for events organized by him at various venues in downtown Toronto. Posters employ a variety of media and processes, including silkscreen and photocopies. Some of these posters were featured in Will Munro: Total Eclipse, July 31 – September 26, 2010, part of the Toronto Now series of exhibitions at the AGO. Silk-screening of many of the posters was carried out by Michael Comeau.

Hollyburn Heritage Society collection

The fonds consists of digital photographs selected and scanned by the Hollyburn Heritage Society. The photographs relate to people, places, and events on Hollyburn Ridge. May Day collection

The collection consists of material relating to May Day celebrations which was a key community event in West Vancouver from 1931 to 1971. The celebrations included installation of a May Day Queen, parades and other ceremonies. After 1971, the celebration was renamed Community Day, and the collection also includes records pertaining to this event.The material includes photographs, registers, scrapbooks, speeches, organizing committee records, and correspondence.

Deseronto Archives photographic collection

The photographs are arranged by subject matter and cover activities in and around the town of Deseronto, Ontario. The majority date from the late nineteenth century and many depict the lumber-related industries of the Rathbun Company in Deseronto. There are also photographs of school groups, churches, railways, First World War airfields and portraits of Deseronto citizens.

Holly Elementary School collection

The collection consists of 39 copy negatives with 93 matching slides of Delta pioneers, schools and historical locations in Delta, and five cassette tapes of interviews with Delta pioneers conducted by grade five students of Holly Elementary School in Delta. The collection is the result of a centennial year project called "Those Were the Days" carried out by the students under the direction of their teacher Mr. G. Johnson. Photographs include copies of historical images as well as contemporary portraits and scenes. A project list of the images is available. People interviewed for the project were: Murray Davie, Tony and May Lagemaat, Jean Atkinson, Bertha Reynolds, John and Warrena Nottingham, Edith Bell, Mrs. Ellis Telfer, Mrs. Albert Weaver, Ed Vidulich and Dominic Bussanich.

Deseronto Town Hall photograph collection

Photographs of Deseronto, Ontario dating from the 1970s to 2011, depicting a variety of Town events. They include a set of aerial photographs of the town from the 1980s; the interior of the former Home Hardware store in the Baker Block on Main Street; the O’Connor House on Main Street before its demolition; the 1989 100th Anniversary celebrations, photographs of Centennial Park and Rathbun Memorial Park; the opening of the Deseronto Public Library in its 358 Main Street location in 2001; the Ontario Provincial Police handover ceremony in 2001; an Easter Parade from the early 2000s; a Santa Parade; the 2002 New Year’s Levee; and the 2010 Olympic Flame run in Deseronto.

Most of the photographs appear to have been taken by Town staff. One envelope was donated to the Town by Irene Usher and contains photographs taken by her late husband, Tom.

The materials were collected by Don Simpson, former general manager of the Deseronto plant.

Margaret Blain collection

Collection consists of records and photographs from activities of Tiny Tots and recreation classes taught by Margaret Blain at the Civic Centre on Second Avenue. Includes notes, the Civic Centre's Bylaws revised 6 Aug 1946, correspondence, a Pro-Rec Centres bulletin, membership cards, Civic Centre Program Bulletins, program lists, a Civic Centre leaders' handbook, book of enrollment, and attendance for programs. Photographs include the civic centre building, gymnastics, tiny tots, and staff including Don Forward, Neil Ross, Bob Moore, and Jack McIntosh. Other photographs depict Norman Baker and Emile Blain, Margaret's husband, and Emile and another employee inside Blain Brothers Grocers at 837 2nd Ave. West. Ephemera consists of a Prince Rupert General Hospital feeding schedule for Barbara Blain, a Reid's Holiday Tog. Ltd. for Miss M. Slin, a Pro-Rec winter schedule from 1946-1947, and a birth form from the Prince Rupert General Hospital, dated June 21, 1950.

Thomas and Mildred Laurie collection

The collection includes material relating to Alert Bay that was created or collected by Thomas and Mildred Laurie, as well as photographs and textual records created or received by James Barclay Williams, who bequeathed the records to Mildred Laurie. The collection includes a photo album, photographs, postcards, correspondence, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and a calendar. Photographs document Alert Bay and the surrounding area, including the B.C. Packers store, Christ Church, the native cemetery, St. Michael’s Residential School and Preventorium, Canada Packers, Hardy Bay, totem poles, a long house, and the Nimpkish Hotel. Photographs also document local events, including potlatches, weddings, an outdoor salmon barbeque, BC centenary celebrations in 1958, native ceremonies, and a visit by the Governor General.
