Community research

Sub-series consists of records relating to research undertaken by Helen Jennex and possibly others into local history and events in the Eastern Shore. Sub-series contains two booklets, one describing the history of the Clam Harbour Church and one, written by Jennex, describing the history of the West Jeddore School. Sub-series also contains clippings relating to local events and people.

Publication layouts

Sub-series consists of page layout collages for portions of Marine Highway Historical Society publications in which Helen Jennex was involved, including Eight Years of Marine Whispers. The layouts are for the graphical parts of the publications and consist of photographs, clippings, text, and other material glued onto sheets of white paper. Included is the original drawing for the front cover of the Society publication The Gulls Cry.

West Pubnico Sewer records

Subseries forms part of General Municipal Records series and consists of records and drawings which documented the construction of the Municipality's sewer system. The records consist of municipal plebiscite records, petitions, applications, cost estimations, and other related records. The technical drawings include pencil and ink on tracing paper and blueprints of the sewer system.

Municipal Poor Farm and Yarmouth-Argyle-Barrington District Planning Commission Records

Subseries forms part of General Municipal Records series and consists of a volume of detailed poor farm accounts, which indicate income from the sale of produce and other sources, and maintenance expenditures for the Poor Farm. Also, a volume of patient accounts and records, and a folder of account records for the Yarmouth-Argyle-Barrington District Planning Commission.

Photographs, books and ephemera

Sub-series consists of photographs of and programmes for Sunday School plays, examination completion certificates, two Bibles (one of which belonged to Frances Kellogg, including extant notes from the Bible), photographs of Frances Kellogg, and Kellogg's obituary.

Correspondence

Sub-series consists of correspondence of the vestry clerk, including three petitions regarding the Willis-Twining issue; contracts, transfer copies of letters and receipts dealing with Vestry matters, Vestry members' lists indicating Glebe committee members, financial papers and church building papers.

Subseries consists of ledgers of the City of Halifax Fire Department, including companies records, records of fires, a roll of members, and a daily log. The companies records include the date, time, address of fire, number of ladders raised and the gallons of chemicals used. The records of fires include the date, time, address of fire, name of owner and the number of occupants in the dwelling, the type of occupants (e.g. tenants or owners), the cause of fire, the cost of damage and type of building and roof construction (wood, shingle, etc.). The daily log contains lists of staff on duty, procedures, visits, and training at the fire station. The roll of members includes employee names, salaries, the fire station and house employees belonged to, as well as the dates of hiring and retirement/resignation.

This subseries contains records pertaining to Medaille House history, Medaille House annals from 1975-1990, and the history of the Medaille House labyrinth.
