Glenbow Museum collection

This collection consists of photographs and textual material. The 14 black and white copy prints are from the Bartsch Collection held at the Glenbow Museum and Archives. The collection, which includes the work of photographers J. Doody, Eric Hegg and Hugh Dempster, depicts for the most part the North West Mounted Police and the Yukon Field Force activity from 1896-1911. Other prints show sternwheelers, mines and mining, Miller Creek and artifacts from the McClintock Expedition at Melville Island. The textual material is a collection of miscellaneous papers which includes a business card for a Whitehorse store; 2 certificates of the Assignment of a Placer Mining Claim, 1900; receipt of stock shares, 1902; Bills of sale, 1902 and 1920. There are also 2 photocopied publications: a Bulletin for St. Paul's Church, 1908 and a program for Arctic Brothers' Annual Masque Ball, 1912.

This collection consists of photographs depicting scenes and activities from Skagway and Dyea, Alaska to Dawson City, Yukon, between 1898-1907. It includes work by several photographers: H. J. Goetzman; Eric Hegg; J. Doody; and L. E. Robertson. Specific subjects include Bennett, Carcross, Dawson City, Dyea, Eagle (Alaska), Whitehorse Rapids, Hootalinqua, Juneau (Alaska), Skagway (Alaska), Lindeman, Marsh Lake, McQuesten and Co. store, Sheep Camp, sternwheelers and the White Pass Trail. The photographs are arranged alphabetically by subject.
