Mary MacBride collection

The collection consists of original and copy prints of photographs collected by the MacBride family, and original and photocopied magazine and newspaper articles collected by Mary MacBride. The photographs show the MacBride family, relatives, and friends, including Jack Hulland, Ada Smith, Gudrun Erikson and Them Kjar. There are shots of airplanes, schools, and early homes in Whitehorse, as well as scenes of Atlin and Burwash. The collected articles are about air transport and plane crashes in Canada and Yukon prior to WWII, the construction of the Alaska highway, the drowning of Bob Smith and Laurence Pettigrew in Atlin Lake, photocopied passenger lists from the T.S.S. Prince Rupert and other coastal steamers, and poems, one of which is written by Mary's father, W.D. MacBride.

Roy S. Minter fonds

The fonds consists of 7.4 metres of textual records organized into three sub-series: Business Files; Research and Publication Files; and White Pass and Yukon Route Records. The contents of the sub-series include historical research files, speeches, correspondence, White Pass & Yukon Route letterpress books, ledgers, certificates, drafts and final copies of White Pass: Gateway to the Klondike manuscript, publications and journals. The publication of his book created many of the historical research files, related correspondence files, and production notes. The graphic materials are organized into three series: White Pass & Yukon Route Photograph Albums, 1898-1899; George Black Photograph Albums, 1898-1965; and William D. MacBride Photograph Album, 1900-1952. There are black and white and colour photographs, some with negatives, and colour slides by Roy Minter or commissioned by Roy Minter. Also included are maps, posters, calendars, press releases, and other corporate promotional material, original artwork and technical drawings by R. Minter, production notes, research, and correspondence concerning films and audio visual presentations created by Mr. Minter. There are also 16mm films in black and white and colour that were created or collected by R. Minter, and reel to reel sound recordings of oral history interviews of Roy Minter conducted on March 19th and March 23rd, 1992. The majority of the material was created or collected through Mr. Minter's professional career with White Pass and later through his public relations consulting firm.
