Jake Superstein family fonds

The fonds consists of materials collected by Ruth and Jake Superstein, and by Shelley Superstein Alexander, and Gillian Horwitz, from 1908-2009. The fonds includes the following series: 1. Photos (1908-2007). This series consists of photos of the Superstein and Grabow families, as well as other members of the community and various dignitaries. 2. Ernest Manning Correspondence (1958-1971). This series consists of a series of letters between Jake and Alberta Premier Ernest Manning. Correspondence (1955-1992). This series consists of a series of letters between Jake and various dignitaries including politicians, celebraties and dignitaries. Awards and Certificates (1977-2005). This series consists of awards and certificates given to Jake and/or Ruth Superstein including the Order of Canada and the Award of Merit from the Silesian Brotherhood. Don Superstein (1993-1994). This series consists of items pertaining to Don Superstein's tenure on the Edmonton Police Commission. Don Superstein Bar Mitzvah (1969). This series consists of cards and letters pertaining to Don Superstein's Bar Mitzvah. Condolence Cards (2005). Curriculum Vitae (2005). Family Documents (1989-1993). This series contains documents from family weddings and B'nai Mitzvahs. Pinsk Reunion (1992). This series contains items from the survivors of Pinsk reuntion attended by the Supersteins, held in Israel in 1992. Legal Documents (1932-1951. This series contains birth, marriage and immigration certificates and other documents. Newspaper Clippings (1962-2005). This series consists of newspaper clippings pertaining to the Superstein family. Food Bank fundraiser (1987). This series contains documents pertaining to a fundraiser for the food bank organized by Jake Superstein.
