Martha Louise Black fonds

The fonds consists of material created and collected by Martha Black. Glass lantern slides (308) with scenes of the Yukon were used by Mrs. Black in slideshows she presented, often when travelling outside the Yukon. The slides are described in the Photograph Collection series, (82/294). A photograph album contains family photographs and Dawson City scenes. There are also 19 loose photographs of the Blacks and their friends (82/218). Also included is Martha Black's typescript of her book "My Seventy Years", correspondence, her House of Commons diary, speech notes, postcards and calling cards (82/218). The fonds consists of photographs documenting the Blair family and extended family, friends, and activities while living in Snag and Beaver Creek, Yukon Territory ca. 1930 to 1996. The photographs contain images of subsistence and traditional activities such as tanning hides, fishing, preparing food, sewing, and First Nations language workshops. Other images include family member portraits, the Snag and Beaver Creek churches, landscapes, and other residents of Snag and Beaver Creek including Charlie Eikland, Stanley Peters, and the Copper, Nieman, Johnson, Jack, Enoch, and Tom Tom families. The fonds also contains images from the J.B. Tyrrell Papers that portray First Nations peoples of the Nisling River and Aishihik in 1898.

The fonds consists of copy prints of photographs taken by Chooutla (Carcross) Residential School teacher A. Richard King of his students and their school life in and around Carcross, Yukon. Subjects include Mr. King, Principal Lawson, Vice-Principal Walters, supervisors Miss Fennell, Miss Barstow and Beverly Bear, the school, tobogganing, and games and activities during Winter Carnival Days and Sports Day. Also included are images of the Matthew Watson General Store and tourists waiting to board the White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR) train at the Carcross station. Many of the students in the photographs are identified including Helen Malcolm, Dorothy Johnnie, Judy Hager, Vivian Smith, Velma Silas, Ben Johnson, Nancy Tizya, Virginia Simon and Ann Smith.

Father Marcel Bobillier fonds

The fonds consists of five accessions of material created and/or collected by Father Bobillier and consists of copied and original material. The fonds includes: 1. microfilm copies of the journals written by Father Bob about his work, experiences and life in the communities of Prince Rupert, Dease Lake, Lower Post, Teslin, Atlin, Fort Selkirk, Fort Nelson and Dawson City, 1939 to his death in 1986. There are 37 volumes maintained in chronological order, along with a detailed Table of Contents and index. The photographs that accompany the journal entries were all microfilmed on one final reel. 2. a copy of Father Bob's unpublished manuscript "Steps for Eternity, Memoirs of a Missionary in the Yukon", 1983. His narrative begins in 1940 with his journey to the Yukon and recounts his experiences in Dease Lake, Telegraph Creek, Atlin, and Tulsequah, British Columbia, and Mayo, Fort Selkirk, Carmacks, Clinton Creek, and Dawson City in the Yukon. He had wanted to publish this manuscript, but was unwilling to change any of it, so only excerpts have been published. 3. sixty-two photographs taken by Father Bobillier between 1940 and 1950. The majority of the images are of the riverfront town of Fort Selkirk and include photographs of the town and its residents and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. There are also six prints showing the 'cat train' method of transportation which utilized a caterpillar tractor and multiple skids to transport goods. These photographs depict a cat train en route from Minto to Mayo during winter. There are also images of Atlin, Whitehorse and First Nations. Many of the individuals are identified and listed in the inventory. Also included are 28 original photographs, ca. 1925-1971, from the personal collection of Ruby Scott, of Ruby at her home in Keno.

Dave Bohn collection

These photographs were collected by Dave Bohn, and were mostly created by Kinsey & Kinsey, photographers. Other photographs were created by Larss & Duclos, Goetzman and Adams & Larkin. The collection consists of 22 original prints and one stereocard. Images include Dawson City, Grand Forks, Eldorado, Hunker and Sulphur Creeks and depict leisure as well as the mining activity in these areas. Individuals represented in the photographs include George Archer, Clarence and Clarke Kinsey, Asa Thurston Hayden, Mary Kinsey, Otto Reinig, James Mason (Skookum Jim), George Carmack and Patsy Henderson. There are also images of dog teams. The stereo card was published by G. W. Griffith in 1900 and is titled "Prospectors at Claim 29, Klondike".

Malvina Bolus fonds

The fonds consists of a handwritten journal, written by Malvina Bolus, describing a trip to Skagway, Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon in 1971. There is also a postcard size print of an old couple and a log cabin by Yukon artist, Jim Robb, 1961. The b&w drawing was printed on moose hide and Jim Robb wrote a message on the back and mailed it to Malvina Bolus.
