This collection consists of material from W.A. West's work on the book "Army of the West" on the history of western Canadian military units and their involvement in various military campaigns. This includes his research, book drafts and proofs, as well as numerous photographs. Also with this collection are files related to updating the chain of office for the Mayor of the City of Edmonton, and a scrapbook and tapes from the second ride of the Alberta Field Force from Calgary to Edmonton in 1979 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the City of Edmonton. Finally, this collection includes files, newspaper clippings and photographs related to the Prince of Wales Armoury Foundations efforts to "save" the Prince of Wales Armouries.

The fond consists of butter papers from the Huff Dairy, clippings related to the Huff family history, posters of the livestock sale in 1951, a souvenir program from the 1940 Edmonton Winter Carnival, a souvenir of the Edmonton Grads Basketball team, and a Royal Air Force Bowden Training School yearbook from ca. 1942. The fonds also includes photographs of Edmonton and the Edmonton area from the 1940s.

This fonds consists of a menu card, T.S. Zeeland, celebrating the birthday of Major B.J. Saunders, Oct. 17, 1914; a manuscript account of Peter Anderson's escape from a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany during World War I; a letter written from the Bischofswerda camp to his son, Bert; humorous regimental orders, Apr. 5, 1916; photograph of bridge piers (?), Feb. 1958; a uniform button for the 101st Edmonton Fusiliers (9th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force).

The collection consists of three framed photographs from the McDermid collection, including the Armistice Day Parade 1918, Cabs at the Hotel MacDonald, and Riverside Park on a Sunday.
