The fonds consists of financial statements of the association, related concert bulletins, periodicals, newsletters and convention schedules, as well as bylaws of the association over its history. These records document the history of the Alberta Band Association and its development over time.

Fonds consists almost entirely of Allan Cairns' scholarly and creative writing. A small number of items relating to his teaching responsibilities in the Department of English and to his career as a whole are included amongst the records reflecting his professional activities, and correspondence relating to the publication of his work are filed along with copies of his writings which appeared in print. The records were sorted and arranged after Cairns' death by an appointee of his executors: it is unclear what changes were made to Cairns'original arrangement. The fonds has been arranged into six series, including Professional Activities, Scholarly Writing, Poetry, Short Stories, Novels, and Publications and associated material.

The fonds consists of materials created by Abraham Shnitka of Calgary from 1910- 1959. The fonds consists of these series: 1. Franklin Press (ca. 1915- ca.1935). The series consists of pamphlets, handbills, publications and other materials published by or relating to Franklin Press. Most of the materials relate to meetings of Jewish and Zionist Organizations in Western Canada. 2. King's (Queen's) Printer (1935- 1957) The series consists of publications, brochures and other materials related to Abraham Shnitka's operations of the King's Printers' of Alberta. 3. Miscellaneous (1910- 1959) The series consists of correspondence, photographs, and other materials.

The fonds consists of architectural plans of the Mount Royal house, designed by Calgary architects, Holman and Gotch.

Ce fonds offre des renseignements intéressants sur des événements et personnages du monde artistique ainsi que des images de la ville de Montréal et de la province de Québec et des études et compositions photographiques artistiques qui témoignent de la carrière d'un photographe indépendant pendant les années 1960 et 1970. Le fonds contient des photographies assez variées mais dont une bonne partie touche aux arts (sculpture, danse, poésie) et à l'artisanat et à plusieurs expositions ou symposiums concernant ces activités. Un événement culturel typique des années de la Révolution tranquille, comme le célèbre symposium sur la sculpture au Parc Mont-Royal, a permis au photographe de photographier les sculpteurs à l'oeuvre. Des images de personnages importants du monde de la sculpture, comme Armand Vaillancourt, côtoyent celles d'artistes moins connus (Elloul Kosso, Louis Chavignier, Augustin Cardenas, Irving Burman, Joseph Pillhoffer, Krishna Reddy, Robert Rousil, Sklavos, Sergio Signori, etc.). Du côté de la danse, Monsieur Gagné a photographié les Grands Ballets Canadiens, les Feux Follets et divers groupes de danse moderne experimentale comme Catpoto et Mangrove, contenant des images de danseurs et danseuses comme Jeanne Renaud, Françoise Riopelle, Michèle et Suzanne Vaillancourt dans des spectacles dans des lieux variés comme à la Place des Arts, à la Comédie canadienne, au théâtre des Variétés. Monsieur Gagné a également photographié plusieurs soirées de poésie (autre manifestation typique de l'effervescence culturelle des années 1960), incluant des poètes reconnus comme Gaston Miron et Paul Chamberland et autres moins connus. Il y a aussi beaucoup d'images de paysage (dont Montréal), des portraits, des études de divers sujets pour fins d'expositions. Des photographies de M.-A. Gagné sont souvent plutôt « artistiques » (elles ont été publiées dans plusieurs revues spécialisées de la photographies et le photographe a participé dans une cinquantaine d'expositions dont une quinzaine d'expositions solo, au Québec et au Canada anglais)
