Keith Finnen fonds

The fonds consists of textual records and photographs related to the operations of the steam plant which generated energy to run the steam engines for the North Canadian Forest Industries, Plywoods Division Plant on 118th Avenue and 99th Street in Grande Prairie. It includes correspondence from 1959-1960 between Ted Roubicek (from Canfor head office in New Westminster, BC) and King Crick, manager of the Grande Prairie Plant; a manual and two blueprints for the Erie Ball Engine which was installed in 1959-1960; inspection certificates from 1973-1985 for various boilers which ran the steam engines at the mill; Engineer's Regulations and Examination, 1972-1975; a training manual for a new hot oil system for creating steam installed ca. 1985; and copies of news clippings related to the history of the Canfor Plywood Plant. The photographs are in the 1985 training manual and show Joe Pirker pointing out the intricacies of the new plant.

Gil Cardinal fonds

The fonds consists of records from Gil Cardinal’s independent and freelance projects; the film companies co-founded by Cardinal (Great Plains Productions, Kanata Productions, Strange Empire Productions); and his work for NFB, BBC, or other broadcasters.

The textual materials contain the complete business records of Great Plains Productions, creative records for specific projects (including scripts, notebooks, shot lists, story boards, and editing notes), administrative records for specific projects (including contracts, financial records, grant applications, and correspondence), developmental records related to unrealized projects, and personal records (including correspondence, speaking notes, speeches, and teaching material).

The films consist of home movies from Cardinal’s foster family (some of which were used as part of Foster Child); a tour of the Canadian Museum of Civilization with its architect, Douglas Cardinal; and release prints of Foster Child.

The videocassettes consist of original shooting tapes and completed masters of several projects. Most prominent among these are My Partners, My People, Our Home and Native Land, The Great Possibility, and David with F.A.S. There are also masters, but not shooting tapes, for several other projects including Big Bear, Chiefs (for both episodes directed by Cardinal), Totem, and others. Some of these masters are on DVD as well as videocassette.

The photographs, negatives, and slides consist of images shot by Cardinal during the course of filming, images of special events, and family photos.

Nicolas and Erena Woronuk fonds

The fonds consists of two copies of a biographical account of Nicholas (Nylolai) Woronuk and family, written in Ukrainian by a niece, Mrs. John Bzovey of Rycroft. The document was typed and and edited by I. Goresky, of Edmonton, and tells of the family's epic journey from Edson to Grande Prairie in 1913. Included in the fonds are a shorter account of the story, in English, as published in "Ukrainians in Alberta"; additional hand written accounts from the Woronuk family in English and Ukrainian; and a letter from I. Goresky to Dr. Jerry Petryshyn referencing the history of Ukrainians in Alberta, and especially the Woronuk family.

Evy McBryan fonds

The fonds consists of 182 colour slides from 1957 to 1974, during the time Evy was most active with supporting the Arts, and when she lived with her family on a farm just outside Grande Prairie. Some labeled and dated, on the subjects of gardens, people (including Evy's Junior Art Class), scenery, farm, horses, vacations, Jasper, Chinook Ridge, Peace River, Smoky, Pipestone, Stoney Lake, Monkman Pass, Dunvegan, Taylor Flats, and Reflection Lake.

The collection also includes slides of her brother Jack, wife Pearl, and their children Shelley and Ted; slides of their friends Bert & Jean Dalgleish and their farm near Pipestone Creek.

Charles McNaught Family fonds

The fonds consists of the correspondence, personal records, financial records, and photographs of the Charles McNaught family. The material is arranged in files for each member of the family and general files for photographs and miscellaneous records. The correspondence is mainly from one family member to each another, but also includes extended family members and friends. The financial records for the McNaught farm are with John and Noel McNaught's records. There is one artwork, a pencil sketch done by Euphemia (Betty) McNaught when she was about 11 years old.

Bay Tree Community Hall fonds

The fonds consists of records relating to the operation of the hall and the meetings that were held in the running of the hall. There are minute books and list of memberships and executives; financial documents, deposit books and annual returns; receipts and documents pertaining to the running of the hall; the original lease agreement for the land the hall sits upon; and nine photographs of the Bay Tree community.
The fonds is arranged in six series based on record content: minutes, financial records, annual returns, land, hall operations and photographs. The arrangement has been set by the Archivist as for the most part the records were not in any set order.
