Duncan and Katherine Cameron family fonds

The fonds predominately consists of correspondence and genealogical information relating to Duncan and Katherine Cameron and their family. The records capture family information over three generations.

Some of the earliest records in the fonds documents Duncan and Katherine (Baillie) Cameron's early experiences and observations following their arrival in Upper Canada in 1835. The fonds includes correspondence regarding their family home in York Mills, "Lindally", which they had built in 1836 and named after their home in Scotland. Correspondence discusses topics such as the harvest and agriculture, Duncan Cameron's financial affairs and the Cameron's family life in York Mills, Upper Canada. The correspondence also touches on the political climate at the time including the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837 and Duncan Cameron's views on the "radical Yankees", as well as his opinions on Lord Durhams' Report on the Affairs of British North America released in 1839.

Additional textual records in the fonds consist of correspondence from Archibal Cameron, Donald Cameron and Dr. Kenneth Cameron, typed transcripts of family correspondence prepared by Colonel Kenneth Cameron (ca. 1914), genealogical charts of the Camerons of Erracht and related families, Camerons of the Clunes and the Camerons of Camisky, Scotland and Lindally, marriage notices, legal documents and newspaper clippings.

The fonds also include photographs, maps and drawings accumulated and maintained by the Cameron family.

For the most part, the fonds is arranged in the original order retained by the donor.

Fonds consists of records created and received by Ross McClellan in his capacity as a New Democratic Party member of the Ontario Legislature, and MPP for the riding of Bellwoods.

Fonds includes McClellan's constituency office records and correspondence. Fonds also includes correspondence and subject files created and collected by McClellan while he was NDP critic for the health, housing, social services, and the Workers' Compensation Board; while he served on various standing committees; and while he was NDP house leader.

Records include correspondence, press releases, news clippings, constituency files, research documentation concerning legislative issues, speeches, files related to advocacy work, meeting notes, newsletters, and bulletins.

Kingston Regional Cancer Centre operational records

Series consists of administrative, operational, and subject files of the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre used during its activities as health and research facility.

Series includes minutes, agendas, reports, briefing notes, presentations, correspondence (including printouts of electronic mail messages), policies, procedures, and reference material.

Subjects include relations with the Kingston General Hospital, Queen's University, Cancer Care Ontario, and various Ministries of Health at the provincial and federal levels; fundraising and donor relations; cancer awareness promotion; cancer research; facility accreditation and capital projects.

The files are generally in no discernable order. Some files are in general alphabetical order by subject.

Gordon Walker fonds

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Gordon Walker while he was a member of Ontario's parliament. Records include responses to public letters about a variety of issues within the province, such as budgets, commissions, and provincial employees' salaries.

Also included are letters from Walker to different Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) about issues he was managing in his role as an MPP, as well as records concerning various group assemblies.

John Beikie fonds

Fonds consists of a copy of the Holy Bible, containing the Old Testament and the New: translated out of the Greek, and with the former translations diligently compared and revised, by his Majesty's special command. This copy was printed by John Archdeacon, Printer to the University [of Cambridge], and sold by John, Francis, and Charles Rivington; Benjamin White; Charles Dilly; and John Fielding in London; and J. J. Merrill in Cambridge, United Kingdom, 1782. The copy is inscribed, Henry Crawford to John Beikie, and contains birth and baptism information for John Beikie; James Beikie, Senior; Thomas Beikie; and James Beikie, Junior.

Foster-Strathy family fonds

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by members of the Foster and Strathy families. Included are correspondence of Captain Edward Charles Colley Foster, 1840-1876, who served with the 12th East Suffolk Regiment of Foot in the New Zealand Maori Wars (1860s), and was son of the Can. Adjut-Gen. Colley Lyons Lucas Foster. Also included is the First World War correspondence of Captain Gerard Brackenridge Strathy, attached to the 2nd Casualty Clearing Station, C.E.F. Letters are written to family members living in Toronto.

MacDonald family fonds

Fonds consists of correspondence created and accumulated by members of the MacDonald family as well as from friends and relatives of the family.

Correspondence details life in Upper Canada in the mid-nineteenth century. The majority of correspondence is addressed to Janet MacDonald and William MacDonald.

Later correspondence includes postcards addressed to Mrs. Benjamin MacDonald, also referred to as Huldah Ann MacDonald (nee Lever). These postcards are mainly regarding questions related to Huldah Ann's mother's lineage, the Stoutenburg(h)s.

C.H. Sache fonds

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by C.H. Sache in his capacity as Deputy Clerk of the Crown and Pleas, County Court Clerk and the Clerk of the 1st Division Court at Perth, which was part of Bathurst District (until 1850) in Upper Canada (now Ontario).

Fonds includes correspondence; account records and correspondence from the Commercial Bank in Kingston, Ontario; and records of receipts.

Richard W. Barrow fonds

Fonds consists of photographs taken by Richard W. Barrow, most of which show various buildings and locations in Kingston, Ontario. Also included is Barrow's notebook containing recipes for albumen mixes used in developing photographic prints and other notes he made about photography.

Kingston locations depicted in the photographs include Fort Henry and Fort Frontenac; Kingston Harbour and Portsmouth Harbour; various islands comprising the Thousand Islands; a commercial bank on King Street East; the John Patterson Merchant commercial mart building; Wellington Street Public School; various churches; the courthouse and city hall; and the post office on Clarence Street. Other photographs show boats, people, and views of Kingston's streets. Also included are photographs of Hog Island and of Crossman House and Alexandria Bay in New York, United States.

Evelyn W. Brownell fonds

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Evelyn W. Brownell during her public service work in the Immigration Branch of Ontario's Department of Planning and Development, Ontario's Department of Education, and the Ontario Hospital Services Commission. Textual records connected with Brownell's work as the Director of Ontario's Immigration Branch include correspondence between Brownell and various government officials regarding immigration; speeches given by Brownell; Ontario government briefs; and newspaper clippings about immigration. Other textual records connected with her work for Ontario's Department of Planning and Development, the Community Programs Branch of the Department of Education, and the Ontario Hospital Services Commission include correspondence, reports, briefs, and speeches regarding industrial recreation, juvenile delinquency, hospital libraries, information services, and organizational design.

The fonds also contains photographs of Evelyn Brownell in her role as Director of Ontario's Immigration Branch, including photographs of Brownell, Dana Porter (Ontario Minister of Planning and Development), and Ontario Premier George Drew welcoming immigrants to Ontario from the United Kingdom, arriving at Malton Airport under the province's Air Immigration Plan (1947-1949). Also included is a photograph of Ontario's Reception Centre for immigrants, and a photograph of Brownell inspecting the Air Emigration Centre in London, United Kingdom.

In addition, the fonds includes an album containing photographs of Ontario immigration offices and officials; immigrants' medical examinations; the Ontario Government Immigration Reception Centre in Toronto, Ontario, operated by the Salvation Army; immigrant families arriving in Halifax, Nova Scotia; and the arrival of the first all-Scottish air flight at Malton Airport. The album also contains examples of pamphlets prepared by Ontario's Immigration Branch for distribution in the United Kingdom to prospective immigrants.
